Givat Adir-Beit El
Named after Adir Zik z”l
East of the settlement of Beit El stands open land that is partly adjacent to the Beit El settlement, but time and time again Arabs from the nearby village come in to steal the water and pipes, and they have tried time and time again totake over this land. Jews from the settlement have had enough, and they decided, with the backing of the local Rabbis and security forces in the area, to launch “Operation Olive Tree”.
Backed by the Chasdei Meir Fund, the young settlers planted olive trees and literally redeemed the area from the Arabs. The place was then named “Adir”,
after the late Adir Zik z”l, who was a great lover of theLand ofIsrael and gave much to the settlements.
